As the record evolves, one gets the sense that the "my woman" of the title is Olsen herself, absolutely in command but also willing to bend with the influence of collaborators and circumstances. I very much doubt this is limited. I did not bother to listen the b-side but seems like Jagjaguwar strikes again! Somewhat different from Angel's previous work but deeper and more powerful. they're there but ... She creates her own space. I have this album already on clear vinyl... but I kind of want to get this copy just because that deep purple looks so beautiful. My version (bought in UK not Us) is purple vinyl but gatefold sleeve. Produced by Olsen and Justin Raisen, the album was accompanied by music videos for the tracks, "Intern", "Shut Up Kiss Me", and "Sister" all co-directed or directed by Olsen. The lyrics, the voice, the musicianship, the arrangements, make it so.

Enjoyable though, but it's a pity anyway. Awesome album, pressing sounds great, love the purple color. The Olsen voice is limited but she fills 100% of it with emotion. Superb. Over two previous albums, she gave us reverb-shrouded poetic swoons, shadowy folk, grunge-pop band workouts and haunting, finger-picked epics. Mean and moody with an 'I don't care' punkishness.
