I was only told up to 6 months after all the calls and emails. No refund was received so emailed them again and I was advised that if I did not receive my refund by the end of May to contact them again.
Absolutely shocking customer service, still waiting 4 months after cancelling flight before lockdown!! Wanting to ensure I wasn’t delayed any longer I booked those seats which were more expensive than the cancelled seats. Have been waiting for a refund since lockdown began and have been chasing with emails. The flight was a short one and the ride was comfortable; no problems at all. Now had an email response after chasing and chasing and chasing. They clearly have no intention of issuing a refund and are just stalling and lying. Never ever again. After several calls and emails and 4 months I am still waiting for my money. Any other airline as long as its NOT AirMalta! I have appealed to their customer service but they adamantly refuse to compensate me because I didn’t talk to their impossible to reach phone desk first. When I finally spoke to someone they said that they couldn’t handle the issue and put me back on hold. Did not inform me that my flight was cancelled. Arghhh. It is, however, a subsidiary of the government of Malta, designed to be a low-cost alternative to the full-service main airline. This is in direct violation of the eu airline requirement to fairly compensate travellers when cancelling a flight. !I live in Canada and booked a flight a month in advance only to have it cancelled 2 weeks prior to departure.
The flight to Malta went ahead. Similar situation to others below. We flew from Rome (FCO) to Luqa;it was easier for us to schedule the flight out of FCO than it was to find a flight out of Naples. What choice did we have to get back to the UK??? It is a little confusing, but with the involvement of a new partner such as Ryanair, proper branding will set the airline apart. Have still not received any information and they have ignored my emails and calls asking for refund to be processed. Seated near to a child who screamed for 3 hours and when I asked to move to empty seats at the back was told 'no those seats are cold' What they meant was 'that is where we sit for a break'.
Very frustrating to not even get any personalised updates. They Cancelled my flight FOUR months ago and no refund still and they can’t tell me when or if they are processing the refund. Will never book a flight with them again. Only the latest review will count in the company's TrustScore Absolute shambles. The return flight was rescheduled two days later after the original date (although this flight was going ahead and Air Malta had sold our tickets for treble the price), We then had to pay AM £700.30 extra between six people. I wanted to give a zero, one star is too much. Just automated messages saying they are trying there best... No good enough when customers have been waiting months! Shame!
On 2nd trip we had 2 bookings together and one passenger was booked to fly back from the wrong airport - took 48 hours of stress before they could listen to call and admit their error. I do not intend to contact them again but I DO intend to take them to court if I do not have a refund by September.
Terrible customer service. Cancelled my flights due to covid 19. As I received no refund I did contact them AGAIN and was told my refund would now take SIX MONTHS!!!
I would suggest that others in a similar position do likewise as this is just theft from customers. Surely this is against the law to keep customers money! Booked Air Malta through Travelgenio, as it was a third party booking I started bricking it as to whether I was going to have a ticket due to there being so many bad reviews about the agency.
