He gives excellent feedback both in class and in office hours.
It just depends on how much work you put in yourself.I have had him for two classes. He is by far my favorite professor. Comp 105 and Business Writing 280.
Grade is based off of 4 essays which he prepares you for through lecture and group work. He zooms out to give you the big picture a lot of the time. His lecture clarity is decent, but tends to write equations on the board without telling what they apply to. His handwriting is rather sloppy though, and he tends to skip a lot of steps, which can make the lectures confusing. Decent overall. He provides us with example essays to know exactly what he expects and he gives great feedback on essays. He gives plenty of time in class to work on the projects and is very accessible outside of class. Rate My Teachers (RMT) is an educational site where students evaluate, rate, and review teachers and courses. He is an easy grader, would definitely take again if I needed to. I would take him again if I could. All the theory came from 103/105, so not much new. Go to his office hours before every assignment is due & he will critique it so you can do well.
There are three projects, students have pretty much full control on what they choose to write. !Wonderful teacher. I wish he was more specific about what parts of the chapter were important since the online reading did not highlight all the important information. Nothing too strenuous.
Very responsive to emails as well.Kennedy gives back great feedback and you'll know exactly what he wants for the paper/project. He doesn't write all his damn notes on the board, making class much more lively.Professor Kennedy is a good teacher for 107 because he forces us to do the work ourselves--like when we get a job. Class needed a little more structure also.Textbook is useless, so you must go to lectures to understand the material. He makes fluids a class I didn't mind going to. It also publishes learning resources, videos, and helpful links. His sense of style is aesthetically pleasing. He taught me a lot about writing and rhetoric but also wasnt too hard on his students. The criteria for each assignment is posted online. Very easy grader and we were never in class more than 45 minutes. I would recommend him to anybody. His office hours aren't at the most convenient of times, but he is willing to work with students. Very laid back professor.The whole class is 100 points based on 3 major projects (plus a few other small assignments). GO ONLINE FOR THE CHAPTERS. Kennedy has a fun accent and a sense of humor, so I guess that's the best you can ask for. His derivations in class skip steps and sometimes he makes mistakes so watch out and read the book.He is very engaging(cracks jokes a lot). T.A's grade material harshly, most of which he never even sees. Kennedy made us really think about how to apply it to problems outside of the textbook, which is unusual for many students.Kennedy seems to understand the subject matter but he simply cannot teach it. He is by far my favorite professor. The papers are a bit lengthy but he helps you through it with revision workshops and flexiable office hours.Professor Kennedy is hands down the best!!!
