The Aeroflot passenger fleet consists of narrow-body and wide-body aircraft from seven aircraft families: the Airbus A320, the Airbus A321, the Airbus A330, the Airbus A350 XWB, the Boeing 737, the Boeing 777, and the Sukhoi Superjet 100. The handover, to be formally completed next year, was billed as a way to steer the industry toward more streamlined management and kindle new airplane projects.Russia will also showcase for the first time its Su-57 fighter on Wednesday.The medium-haul MC-21, which is produced by Siberian-based manufacturer Irkut and seats up to 211 passengers, is the industry's big hope after setbacks with the regional Sukhoi Superjet 100 liner, launched in 2011 as the first post-Soviet civilian airplane. It swept up into the sky right after taking off from the Zhukovsky Moscow regional airport and performed some quick turns while still at a relatively low altitude.During the five-minute demonstration flight, the airliner reached the altitude of 1 kilometer while flying at the speed of 400 kph, the Irkut Company said. The multi-role fighter aircraft, set to replace the older generation MiG-29 warplanes, can track up to 30 airborne targets at a distance of up to 160km (100 miles) as well as hit six aerial and four ground targets at once.Russia’s tried-and-true Ka-52 Alligator helicopter also had something to show to the visitors of the air salon.
