Extremely informative, highly interesting, well-done biopic movie. Mary Temple Grandin is a prominent proponent for the humane treatment of livestock for slaughter and author of more than 60 scientific papers on animal behavior.







I am so thankful that Temple spent so many hours talking and working with Claire and the film makers to make this film so truly realistic so what all Temple went thru to, "give the cattle the respect that they deserve".

The idea for a biopic of Grandin originated with its executive producer Reading about Grandin renewed Gerson Saines' "energy, motivation and spirit" in coping with her son's condition.

Animals Make Us Human: Creating the Best Life for Animals I am not a movie viewer, but I have already watched this movie twice (once without commentary and once with). The casting feels spot on; Claire Danes does an amazing job; the story is inspiring ... all those standard superlatives apply. The way the film makers focused on the intensity of the sounds- like the fan spinning or the hinge pulling the vent open and shut- and then showing us the calculations of the degrees turning, helped me understand what really goes on in Temple's mind.

Having earned two degrees in Animal Science during the mid to late 1970s, I can relate to some of the things Temple Grandin experienced, although I did not face many of the challenges that she did.
